Whenever it’s been a hot minute since I’ve written a post, I always feel like I need to somehow reflect over the time since the previous post, in an effort to bring some sort of continuity into the middle part. Because no one really wants to read one more word about the news of the last decade of a year (much less think about it), I thought it might be fun to just idiom my way straight through the middle, touching on the important bits, to get to today’s big news. Here goes:Continue reading “My Favorite Color Is Moda, with a Twist (complete with idiom segue)”
While I’m never entirely thrilled for the end of the ‘lazy’ time of year, I must admit – my brain has come to welcome the swish of a broom that fall brings for clearing out summer’s cobwebs. The time has arrived for organizing, tidying and finishing up – and I’m ready! Before Fall officially swoops in though: A big finish to share. Continue reading “Summertime’s Big Finish”
The long and short of it is that Spring gets me every time. By ‘gets’ – I mean that more than any other time of the year, Spring inspires me to whip up something great; something adventurous and cheery; bright and sunny; joyful and quite obviously – Springy. So when miraculously at Fall Quilt Market 2017, I won a fat quarter bundle of Crystal Manning’s Painted Garden collection, Continue reading “Painted Gardens and a Springy Serendipity Sandbox-Style Sewing Project”

But also because I think the holidays are a time to regroup, reset and lay out a plan for the New Year. Which I did…okay…am still doing, but it’s fine – I’m FINE!
My point is that in taking a little break over the holidays – my catchup schedule has been more than a little insane! That means especially, that until late last week (yes the beginning of FEBRUARY) – I have sewn a just a little, but have effectively completed a big fat NOTHING in terms of finished projects since before Christmas.
Well, that changed over the weekend Continue reading “All I Need is Love…and a Little Sewing Time”
Let’s face it: Everybody loves a good full collection fabric bundle.
We love the ease of not even having to think about Continue reading “Have Scraps? Need Scraps!”
Say it with me: WE ARE! You may remember my recap post following Quilt Market in Houston this last Fall. The long and short of it is that one of my main goals every time I go to Quilt Market is to keep my eyes peeled for fabulous Block of the Month projects that would fit into our groove here in the Woods. When I saw Jen Kinwell’s Long Time Gone quilt, I knew I was onto something! So, without further adieu, Continue reading “Who’s Ready for a New Serendipity Woods BOM Launch?”
It’s Tuesday. I like Tuesdays. For starters, I like them most because it means Monday is behind me (which often means I’m at least somewhat caught up after the weekend) and Continue reading “Things I like, A New Bundle, and Staying on Track”
